Like most software, Concept Office is subject to change. These changes all target improvement and efficiency. The most recent patch of Concept Office also impacted the way HTML formatting is treated within Concept Office. It is possible that without any changes your standard HTML formatting would not work after updating Concept Office. There is a simple solution to address this problem though.
What exactly changed?
The formatting of all texts within Concept Office has changed to automatic formatting. Using this option users don't have to enable special options to show formatted texts. Furthermore we have made a distinction between the e-mail formatting and the text formatting (the text that will be used in the PDF files that get attached to the e-mails). Furthermore it is possible to select two new configuration options in Concept Office allowing you to chose a preselected font and fontsize (configuration 277 and 278).
What do I need to do?
In order to get everything to function in Concept Office please take the following steps. In Concept Office navigate to [Additional Master Data] -> [Text modules]
Now select the text template that you would like to change (please note the first time doing this you might need to change all text templates!):
Open the text template by double-clicking on it. If the text shows up in a white box this means there is no formatting active. This text will not be shown properly in either your emails or your PDF files.
To solve this double click in the whitespace on the textblock as shown above. This opens the text editor screen:
Just press the OK button. You will notice that the color of the text block has changed to yellow indicating that the text in is now saved in a formatted style. Texts show in a yellow box will be shown properly in both email and PDF formats.
Repeat these steps for all your current text templates.
Please note:
Not all text templates will be used in email. For email based texts Concept Office only uses the bwBetreff and bwMail text templates. Make sure to use these text templates for email!
Configure email the correct way
After editing the text templates you might have to enable the HTML style emails in Concept Office. You can do this under the [Administration] tab in Concept Office where you will find the [email settings] tab.
You need to have rights in order to access this module!
Look up the document type (all) and find the colum that says HTML email. Check the box in order to activate the HTML formatting in emails. Please restart Concept Office after doing so.
After restarting Concept Office you can enjoy formatted emails once again. Please have your colleagues restart the system as well in order for the changes to take effect.
